【芝加哥侨学网综合编译】《美国新闻与世界报道》日前公布了2019年度伊利诺伊州公立高中排名。伊州公立高中前50强，全部位于大芝加哥地区。伊州公立高中前十强榜单，包括芝加哥市七所公立高中，以及芝加哥北郊（Lincolnshire, Libertyville）以及西郊（Forest Park）的三所郊区高中。伊利诺伊共有665所公立高中，共有59.4万高中生就读，全职教师3.7万名。
Walter Payton College Prep伊州排名第一，全美排名第九
伊州排名第一的沃特佩顿高中，位于芝加哥北城区，在校学生977人，就读9-12年级。该校学生毕业率为99%，大学教育预备程度93.9%。该校少数族裔学生（除白人以外的其他族裔学生）比例为57%，33%的学生来自低收入家庭。
沃特佩顿高中在课程设置方面，非常重视数学、科学以及人文类的大学预科课程。该校学生还可拓展全球视野的机会，可到法国、伯利兹、南非进行交换生项目的学习。在体育方面，该校爱提供马术、普拉提健身等特色课余活动。
伊州最佳公立高中前十强，除了芝加哥市的七所高中外，还包括北郊的Adlai E. Stevenson High School、北郊的Proviso Math and Science Academy以及芝加哥北边利伯蒂维尔市的Libertyville High School。在华人居民众多的芝加哥西郊地区，则有 Neuqua Valley（#19）, Metea Valley（#29）, Naperville North（#32）, Naperville Central（#31）,Waubonsie Valley High School(#39)共五所高中入围伊州前四十名。

此项排名，是以2016-2017学年全美公立高中各项数据为基础，其评比标准包括：大学教育的准备程度（选修并通过AP大学预科科目、IB国际课程考试的高中12年级学生比例。大学预科的课程内容广泛程度。学生在各州数学、阅读统考中的成绩。学生毕业率，以及非裔、拉丁裔、低收入家庭学生的统考成绩。
