ITW is a leading diversified manufacturing company with nearly 100 years of history and over 800 decentralized business units in 45+ countries. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and will initiate, lead, and execute projects on-time while applying the ITW toolbox and best quality practices. The successful candidate will primarily support the sTIM production department, and will provide additional assistance to the Metals production department. Also responsible for execution of continuous improvement projects and quality initiatives. Essential duties and responsibilities include: ·Develop equipment and process Bills of Materials and spare part lists. ·Address problems through data-based solutions/options and plans; and communicate to team ensuring timely execution. ·Design, fabricate and maintain production tooling, specifications and drawings utilizing AutoCad. ·Assist in specifying and sourcing Capital equipment. ·Update and sustain preventative and unscheduled maintenance system. ·Lead cross-functional team projects consisting of R&D, marketing, quality and production. ·Provide technical assistance and support to our customers via travel to customer sites, teleconferences, etc. ·Coordinate with Quality to develop work instructions, checklists, TEIs, FMEAs, control plans and other documentation as required. ·Implement ITW toolbox methodologies including 80/20, in-lining and MRD within the production department. ·Investigate and implement new ideas to improve quality and/or productivity. ·Lead USa events, continuous improvement projects and new product introduction and scale-up. ·Support the identification and implementation of Statistical Process Control Parameters and Internal Process Parameters (IPPs). ·Support scale up team from lab scale to low volume production and ramp to high volume manufacturing. ·Ensure ISO processes and documentation (procedures, work instructions, etc.) are up to date for all engineering systems. ·Additional duties and tasks as assigned. The successful candidate will have: ·B.S. in engineering field and 5-7 years of relevant industry experience. Hands on manufacturing engineering experience is a must. ·Effective project management skills and knowledge of the engineering aspect of manufacturing equipment, its principle of operation, purpose, and its interaction with the product ·Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as statistics, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations as well as application to processes and designs. ·Understands statistics and application to manufacturing processes including statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), statistical hypothesis testing.·Able to identify and define problem, apply root-cause analysis techniques, and execute a resolution plan. ·Able to apply Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kan Ban, change control, ISO to real-life manufacturing processes. ·Understanding of PLC and process control principles posses knowledge of drafting basics and dimensioning ·Fluent in AutoCAD Suite and MS Office suite and familiarity with MS Access or SQL databases.
